Aljur Abrenica doesn't mind losing role to Ruru Madrid

The actor admitted that he had auditioned for the upcoming new version of "Encantadia"·The Hive Asia

4 May - Although it was Ruru Madrid who was cast as one of the male leads in the new version of the hit 2005 fantasy drama, "Encantadia", fellow actor Aljur Abrenica admitted recently that he had actually auditioned for the role during the casting period.

As reported on PEP News, the actor, who attended the press conference of his new GMA-7 drama, "Once Again" recently, disclosed that he was one of the actors who auditioned for the role of Ybarro, originally played by Kapuso Primetime King, Dingdong Dantes.

"I tried my best, I really did. But I had no expectation. But then the role went to Ruru, so I am very happy for him," he said.

Abrenica said that he bore no ill-feelings despite failing to get the role coveted by many, saying that they were all given the equal opportunity to prove themselves.

"I have no regrets or disappointment, because I know that there will be a lot more opportunities in the future," he said.

Despite losing the role to Madrid, Abrenica already has his own project - the new primetime series, "Once Again", which also stars Janine Gutierrez.
