ALBANY, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State men's lacrosse team opened their 2024 regular season schedule on Wednesday afternoon at Russell Sage College and picked up a 20-7 victory.

After the Gators scored the first goal of the game, FSC senior attack Tanner Longo (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) tallied an unassisted, man-up goal just 1:03 later to knot the score.

Rams' senior face-off specialist Antonio Kaminskey (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) won the ensuing draw and picked up the ground ball before freshman attack Adam Giovinco (Syosset, N.Y.) tallied another man-up score to give FSC a 2-1 lead.

Farmingdale State led 3-1 following another Giovinco score before senior attack Thomas Stock (Selden, N.Y.) recorded his first of the season to go up by three.

FSC held a 5-2 lead and closed the first quarter with an unassisted score by senior midfielder Kyle Kolano (Babylon, N.Y.).

The second quarter saw the Rams outscore Sage by a 9-1 count. Kolano set up Stock for a goal before Giovinco assisted freshman attack Chase DeChiaro (Center Moriches, N.Y.) for his first score to go up 8-2.

Kolano and Giovinco produced goals before the Gators registered their first of the quarter to make it 10-3.

Stock, Kolano, DeChiaro and junior midfielder Tyler Kollar (Bellport, N.Y.) (2x) each produced goals to end the second quarter as FSC took a commanding 15-3 advantage into the halftime break.

Both teams scored twice in the third quarter to give Farmingdale State a 17-5 lead heading into the final 15 minutes.

The Rams added a goal from Kolano and two by sophomore midfielder Amir Slaughter (North Babylon, N.Y.) as they earned the 20-7 season-opening victory.

Kolano registered a career-best five goals and six points, while Giovinco and DeChiaro each had three goals and two assists in their collegiate debuts.
