Ho Chi Minh City kicks construction of numerous power projects in 2022

In 2022, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) will start construction of 16 projects and energize 14 power grid projects and substations in the city, contributing to completing the goal of grid modernization.

EVNHCMC said that in order to meet the city’s electricity demand to serve the economic recovery plan after the pandemic, the corporation is urgently implementing plans to accelerate construction and investment works in 2022.

In the first quarter of 2022, the corporation has completed energizing and putting into operation 4 renovation projects of Binh Trieu 110kV substation in Binh Thanh District, Tan Thuan 110kV substation in District 7, Thu Duc Dong 110kV substation in Thu Duc City and Cat Lai-Sao Mai 110kV transmission line.

The Cat Lai-Sao Mai 110kV transmission line renovation project has a total investment of 13.7 billion VND, including the existing line with a length of nearly 1.6km.

In the second quarter of 2022, EVNHCMC said that it is trying to complete the entire renovation project of Chanh Hung 110kV substation to be put it into operation before April 30.

The project has been capitalized with VND 135 billion to upgrade the entire 110kV Chanh Hung substation into a modern GIS substation, thereby enhancing reliability, stability, and flexibility in power system operation, reducing incidents and improving the SAIFI-SAIDI index for the power grid.

Also in the second quarter of the year, EVNHCMC is expected to start construction of three projects including renovating the Hoa Xa 110kV Station, the 110kV branch at Intel Station and the Trang Bang-Cu Chi 110kV transmission line./.
