Synopsis: As the second daughter of King Viserys, you experience firsthand what it means to belong to the House of the Dragon. You attend your very first tourney in celebration of your brother or sister’s impending arrival.
Hello! My apologies for the wait. There was a whole mess of stuff that killed my drive to write for a few days. BUT, I’ve managed to write this one, featuring baby!Babey as a POV character! I’ve tried hard to keep it in a ‘small person’ voice, which got real old real fast, lol. Keep in mind that she’s around 3 years old in this one, so she’s not hella mature or anything. My thanks to @ewanmitchellcrumbs for reading this asshole over, lol.
TRIGGERS: child doing child things, child narrating Episode 1 of HotD, character death.
Just want to let you know that I and some fellow House of the Dragon fanfiction writers have gotten together and set up a Fanfiction Hub!
The Discord has spaces for general chat, character discussion (depraved and romantic) and fandom art. Writers and readers have access to fanfiction update posts, WIP threads and writing resources. Writers also have their own chat spaces to seek beta support, general advice and recommendations from other writers in the server.
Synopsis: Childbirth is the duty and dismay of all highborn women. Together, you and Daemon experience the trials, tribulations and triumphs of expectant parenthood. You stand your ground.
(Set post-episode 7, though Daemon never married Laena or Rhaenyra.)
Writing in a 17+ age fandom (TV-MA for mature audiences as recommended by most parental guides - some rate this R18+)
Writing detailed smut
Complaining about a lack of HotD mutuals
- And somehow, with all these things combined, fails to find the insanity of then stating:
“No one with a mature blog should be interacting with me!!!!! Stop reblogging or liking my content!”
- Then - respectfully - what the hell DO you want??? If you’re going to invade an above-age space and participate the creation of above-age content, then you’re going to get above-age viewers/readers. You shouldn’t be partaking in this fandom; if I’m being quite honest, I would not let any minor watch House of the Dragon. I’d recommend a more age-appropriate fandom space if you’re intent on avoiding adult content-creators.
This is just the wildest, silliest thing I’ve seen on this site for a good while. It is also one of the many, many, many reasons for my healthy block-button trigger.
(I’ll also add a statement here: as an adult in an adult space writing adult content, I reserve the right to block children from seeing that content. The reverse of the above does NOT apply because of the context of the House of the Dragon fandom - being that it is for a mature audience.)
My interpretation of Daemon is one of many. I enjoy writing him, but I’m in no way an authority on this character. That’d be the ones responsible for bringing him to life: George R. R. Martin, the writers on HotD, and of course, our lovely Matt Smith.
But there are also so, so, so many amazing fanfic writers out there who have absolutely INSANELY AWESOME takes on his character, and I’m honestly just happy to be vibin’ here.
I’m so glad people are enjoying my writing, but it’s always valuable to note that there are heaps of great contributors to this fandom and we should value each and every one of their works. Together, they help shape our collective understanding of this character we all love (and love to be appalled by).
I’ve been seeing some really toxic behaviours in our fandom and others, whereby fandom creators are indulging in the echo chamber of feedback they’re getting for their work and positioning themselves as ‘experts’. I just wanted to remind everyone - myself, my readers, and my fellow Daemon hos - that we are all, in our own way, helping shape pop culture’s perspective of him. Every artwork, every fanfic, every analysis and every thirst post has some kind of value in adding to the complexity of our feral meow-meow. Fandom is such a rich source from which characters can be fully-realised, and fandom is a community, not an individual.
I am grateful to be part of it!
Note: this isn’t motivated by anything other than the vibez and the 1am sleepless high. Be cool, broskis (which is a gender neutral term and I stand by that -).
If you’re a writer for House of the Dragon, or simply a fan of the show, we’d love to have you join our Discord!
With spaces for general chat, venting, writer channels and thirst zones, there’s a place for everyone to meet like-minded individuals. House of the Dragon Fanfiction Hub is growing all the time, and is an active, safe place for nearly 100 users at last count!
“The marriage between the second daughter of King Viserys I and his own brother, Prince Daemon, raised eyebrows upon its first announcement. Many assumed the match would echo the Rogue Prince’s unfortunate first union with the late Lady Rhea, despite his wish for a Valyrian bride being, finally, fulfilled. It surprised all who took witness to see the intensity of Daemon’s devotion to his second wife, a regard that would persist through a long and happy union between uncle and niece.”
- ‘Fire & Blood, Being a History of the Targaryen Kings of Westeros’ by Archmaester Gyldayn
The story of Prince Daemon Targaryen and his brother’s second-born daughter, as told through the many terms of endearment he calls her by.
Synopsis: As the second daughter of King Viserys, you experience firsthand what it means to belong to the House of the Dragon. Your uncle returns from his war in the Stepstones.
Hello! Another apology for the lateness of this one; in my defense, this is over 8,000 words, hahaha. Lots of stuffs/feelings to be had! A note - Daemon did not return and get exiled on the same day here. He’s gonna take a couple weeks before fucking up, lol. Just - be aware of that as you read on. Thank you to @randomdragonfires for workshopping this crapbag for me, ahahaha! And thank you to my boobear @ewanmitchellcrumbs, who is sick as a dog but gave this her addled, slightly fever-induced thumbs up.
Synopsis: As the second daughter of King Viserys, you experience firsthand what it means to belong to the House of the Dragon. Your father reconnects with you.
Hello! This one, in comparison to the last, kinda flew outta me! Keep in mind that this is Episode 2 from Reader’s POV; a lot of the action here is centred on Viserys, Alicent, Rhaenyra and Daemon, and thus the canon events are sorta sidelined by Reader’s Big Adventures as a Toddler, lol. Thank you to @ewanmitchellcrumbs for tolerating my bullshit and reading this thing, lol!
TRIGGERS: continued discussion of child grief, Viserys’s courtship shenanigans with various underaged females, ranidaphobia (fear of toads), childlike angst.
Synopsis: As the second daughter of King Viserys, you experience firsthand what it means to belong to the House of the Dragon. Your family gains new additions.
Hello! My sincere apologies for how long this took. I got massively sidetracked by researching how to bind a book, the interest in which hit at a completely inappropriate time in the writing-editing-crafting cycle, lol. I should definitely be focusing on finishing this thing before I start fixating on binding books. Anyway; this chapter is a little time-jumpy, given that I have to speed through a bunch of time. Also, note that I’ve fudged with the ages of Alicent’s kids, so in Episode 3, know that she is now pregnant with Aemond, not Helaena like in the show. It’s the only way to make him of-age in the Episode 8 scenes. Thank you to @randomdragonfires for workshopping this shitto for me, ahahaha! Happy (and well-deserved) holidays to my boobear @ewanmitchellcrumbs, who I have graciously given a night off of slaving away for me, lol.
TRIGGERS: continued discussion of child grief, Viserys’s shenanigans in impregnating an underaged Alicent (canon, this is NOT MY ADDITION).
Incredibly unhinged mutuals and anons being disgusting with each other about the various body parts, kinks, and anatomical functions of characters we stan. AMUSING, but weird and kinda gross.
