by

With the demand for Turkish dramas on the rise, more and more are put into production regularly, the latest of which is titled Alaca.

A Mediahub production venture, the first phase of filming for the forthcoming series has recently been completed in the picturesque locations of Dalyan and the shooting has moved to Istanbul where the rest of the story is set to take place.

Alaca, which stars Melih Özkaya, who gained recognition for his portrayal of Officer Ali in the popular drama series "The Promise" (Emanet), alongside newcomer Ceyda Ceren Edis revolves around two star-crossed lovers who years later find themselves on different sides of the same story of revenge and betrayal. Per the press release, the chemistry among the actors is already palpable, enhancing the authenticity and intensity of each scene.

Fans of Turkish drama classics will be delighted to see some other familiar faces in the ensemble cast of the series, the likes of Burcu Alameman from "Orphan Flowers"(Kırgın Çiçekler), who takes on a sophisticated role, as well as Mine Çayıroğlu as Alaca’s mother Emel, who audiences will remember from her lengthy career in Turkish film and TV in projects such as ‘’İffet’’, ‘’The Oath’’ (Söz), and most recently ‘’Broken Lives’’(Kırık Hayatlar) which aired in Kanal D in 2021-2022. Ufuk Kaplan is set to play Saniye, Emel’s keeper of secrets and old friend, best known for her unforgettable role as Katya in the legendary series "Forbidden Love"(Aşk-I Memnu) and most recently ‘The Fate' (Yazgı).

MediaHub is slated to officially unveil the series during this year's edition of MIPCOM in October. With a traditionally dramatic storyline, talented cast, creative vision, and extensive distribution network of MediaHub, "Alaca" is poised to become a standout production that will leave viewers eagerly awaiting each episode.
