Bio

Juan Carrillo, 51, is an urban planner who served for years on the Palmdale City Council. He’ll use his experience in municipal government as the new chair of the Assembly Local Government Committee. Carrillo was born in Mexico and immigrated to Los Angeles when he was 15. He has a degree from Cal Poly Pomona and a master’s in public administration from Cal State Northridge. He and his wife have four children.
