It’s not a daydream — Sarah Shahi is back on TV! In honor of the Reverie actress’s return to NBC in the new hour-long sci-fi drama, we’re naming this more than accomplished gal our Woman Crush Wednesday.
WHO’S THAT GAL: Sarah Shahi
WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Once you get your eyes on Sarah in Reverie, she’ll be popping up in your dreams too. She stars as former hostage negotiator Mara Kint in the new show that follows her character as she enters ordinary people’s dream-like state while they’re lost in a virtual reality program. It’s kind of like Inception but with more science stuff and emotional connections, and the emotional part, well that’s due to Sarah’s performance.
In the first episode alone, her character is calming and patient, a total badass, and also faced with a scenario that sends huge, powerful tears rolling down her face. She’s jumping from one end of the feelings spectrum all the way to the other in a matter of moments, and watching her is what keeps the show so compelling and heartfelt in between the technology talk.
Of course, Sarah is no stranger to being able to effortlessly portray that total down-to-earth gal quality while remaining exceptionally beautiful and talented at the same time, and it’s precisely why she’s so in-demand.
WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Sarah’s nabbed memorable roles in shows such as Alias, Dawson’s Creek, and The Sopranos, but she’s really made her mark on television by starring in the shows The L Word, Life, Fairly Legal, Chicago Fire, and Person of Interest.
