Description
Español: LAS HÍADES o HÍADAS.

Asterismo y cúmulo abierto estelar en forma de V, localizado en la constelación de Taurus, siendo la cabeza del toro. Aldebarán estrella gigante roja es uno de sus ojos.

Tal cúmulo se encuentra a 151 años luz del Sol, tiene 80 estrellas, un diámetro de 39 años luz y es el cúmulo estelar más próximo a nosotros y formado de la misma nube que el cúmulo del Pesebre (M44).

El recuadro con los datos de la hora de salida (Este) y el paso por el meridiano del lugar corresponden a la estrella ALDEBARAN, rojiza y la más brillante en la V, y tales datos son aproximadamente válidos para el litoral argentino y costa atlántica.

NOMBRES Y SIGNIFICADOS DE LAS ESTRELLAS:

ALDEBARAN: Del árabe: ad-Dabaran, "la que sigue (a las Pléyades)". Estrella anaranjada.

AIN: Del árabe: 'Ain, el ojo del toro.

HYADUM I: Del latín: "la primera de las Hyadas". Estrella color amarillo-anaranjado.

HYADUM II: Del latín: "la segunda de las Hyadas". Estrella color amarillo-anaranjado.
