Summary[edit]

Description
English: Hórreo in Balouta with a thatched straw, Candín (León, Spain). It's built on four slate walls. In one of them it's opened a door which gives access to the place where some belongings are kept. The granary sits on four legs of wood called pegollos. On the legs there is a slab that avoids the entrance to rodents. Between the granary floor and roof of the store there is a small vent space called camaranchón. The teito is of rye made with the technique of palette, with a unusual top, with well knotted straw braid.
Español: Hórreo en Balouta con techo de teito, Candín (León, España). El espacio se alza sobre cuatro paredes de pizarra. En una de ellas se abre una puerta que da acceso al lugar donde se guardan algunos enseres. El hórreo se asienta sobre cuatro patas de madera llamadas pegollos. Sobre las patas hay una losa que evita la entrada a los roedores. Entre el suelo del hórreo y el techo del almacén hay un pequeño espacio de ventilación llamado camaranchón. El teito es de paja de centeno hecho con la técnica a paleta, con un acabado en la cumbre inusual, con trenzado de paja bien anudado.
