A Proud History

In his more than 60-year career, Augusto Cicaré ( Augusto Cicaré – Wikipedia / Augusto Cicaré – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ) was able to display exceptional talent for R&D. He is a forerunner of solutions and systems worldwide, and of the ultralight helicopter category itself. 

Today, accompanied by his family and a team of experts who have brought all that history to a world-renowned and unique R&D company

1948

From 11 to 14 Agusto Cicare builds his first four-stroke engine to run a washing machine, he designs a 500 cm3 engine and its four-speed gearbox with overhead camshaft.

1955

At 18 years of age, he develops and manufactures a 6 (six) HP two-stroke Diesel engine, with a single cylinder, stationary type.

1956

A picture of a helicopter in a popular mechanics magazine sparks his passion for helicopters and he begins to build and figure out how to make one.

1958

With the materials at his disposal, he finished building the Cicaré CH-1 helicopter, the first of its kind developed and built in the entire southern hemisphere.

1964

1969

Created an airplane flight simulator, the first in South America. The UADE distinguishes him for this work.

At the request of Juan Manuel Fangio, he designs and builds an engine to be installed in DKW cars.

1973

Develop the CH-3 with the support of the Argentine Air Force and private businessmen.

1980

Develops the CH-4, the world’s first ultralight.

1986

Stands out at the annual convention of the EAA of the USA (Oshkosh) with its new development, the  CH-6 , a single-seat helicopter powered by a 64 HP Rotax 582 engine.

Signs an agreement with the Argentine Air Force for the development of a helicopter for agricultural use, the CH-5.

 

1992

The Italian Marcelo Gandini, designer of the Lamborghini Diablo, designs the cabin of the Cicaré CH-7 “Angel”.

1993

Cicaré Helicópteros SA is created and the new CH-8 UL project makes its first flights, an ultralight, two-seater and twin-engine helicopter.

1994

Develops the Cicaré SVH-3 Helicopter Flight Trainer. Patented in Argentina and the United States.

1996

Create the CH-7 2000VL. An ultra-light helicopter with two engines, being able to land with a single operating engine, giving greater safety and minimizing risks.

That year he developed the CH-10 C, a multi-engine, single-seat, contra-rotating ultra-light helicopter.

1998

Fly the new CH-11C, contra-rotating helicopter with an unprecedented variable pitch command system.

1999

The SVH-3 Trainer is presented at the HAI International Helicopter Association Convention, the first time for an Argentine product.

2001

Flies the CH-2002, a two-seater helicopter with a turbine engine.

2005

Cicaré SA was founded, the first helicopter series development and production plant in Latin America.

2007

In conjunction with the Argentine Army, the first test flight of the CH-14 is developed and carried out , the first turbine-propelled helicopter developed in Latin America

2009

Fly the CH-12, Side by Side Two-Seater Helicopter

2012

The first Cicaré 7B is exported to Australia.

2015

A new two-seater side-by-side helicopter, the Cicaré 8, is introduced and certification immediately begins.

2017

Visit of the President of the Nation and Governor of the province on the occasion of an investment to increase production.

2019

Agreement signed with INVAP and Marinelli Technology for the development of the RUAS-160A

2020

Augusto Cicaré, the father of ultralight helicopters, and his team designed the most powerful ultralight on the market: the Cicaré 8 with a Rotax 915 iS engine.

2021

2022

Cicaré 8 achieves the first 600 kg certification under German LTF-ULH 

2023

Cicaré USA launches operations for providing sales, services & support for North and Central America regions.  Aircraft kits, engines and additional optional items for the regions are shipped from Reno, NV.
