Salivating over The Suite Room’s Pan-Fried Salmon

I first discovered this wonderful dish via Foodpanda. My usual go-to’s when I’m in the mood for food delivery (and I’m sick of the food from the carinderia) are Hala Paella, Brique, and Ilaputi. That time I felt a hankering for salmon and decided to check out the menu of other restaurants. When I saw The Suite Room’s listing for Pan-Fried Salmon in Citrus Butter Sauce and Mushroom Risotto, I was intrigued. I googled it and read that it was the signature dish of this “hotel suite-styled boutique restaurant” by Casa Verde.

Next to milkfish (bangus), my favorite fish is salmon. I prefer it pan-fried – golden brown and slightly crusty on the outside but juicy in the inside.

When my food delivery arrived (promptly, too) it came in a white carton takeout box taped securely at the flaps. I have to point this out because most of the food I order over Foodpanda are delivered in plastic takeout boxes which are not really environmentally-friendly. Anyway,  after opening the box, the smell of warm, delicious food wafted out. I was practically salivating as I picked up the fork and pierced through the golden brown salmon resting on top of moist, creamy Mushroom Risotto. Arranged at the sides are slices of steamed veggies. The sauce – tangy and buttery – is placed inside a small plastic cup.

The salmon, the sauce, and the risotto make a tasty combination that can only be best described as seduction on your taste buds. It’s a masterful lover who knows how the game is played. And it delivers just what it promises, so you’ll keep coming back for more.

I don’t know why I’m comparing this food to romance but it’s a surefire sign that I’m besotted with this dish.
I have yet to eat this inside The Suite Room at Ayala Cebu. I’m curious to find out if the environment – the ambience of the place – will make this dish taste even better. I’m already waxing poetic just eating it out of a foil-lined takeout box, how much more if it’s served to me plated and artfully arranged. I might instantly combust. We’ll see.
