The Mirador Santo Domingo Cultural Center, as part of its artistic Christmas program and closure of its cultural activities corresponding to the celebration of the tenth anniversary of its foundation, will inaugurate on November 23 at seven at night, the suggestive individual exhibition ” Casual/memory”, by the renowned Chavonero artist Argenis Lebrón; Widely known in the field of plastic and visual arts for its close links with the social and cultural community of La Romana, Altos de Chavón and Casa de Campo, which distinguish and recognize it as a cultural asset of the territories that border the Chavón River. , east of the Dominican Republic.

Argenis’ exhibition is made up of some twenty paintings of various formats created in oil and acrylic on canvas; including ten representative drawings of the technical domains, rigor, and work discipline of the young contemporary artist, who for a decade has been part of the Altos de Chavón Artists in Residence Program, where he received academic training and a degree in Fine Arts, Illustration and Design.

“Desenfadado/memoria” is a cultural project of the Centro Mirador, curated by art critic Abil Peralta Agüero, and associated curator by museologist and art critic Josefina Pichardo Casasnovas.

The exhibiting artist was born in San Cristóbal in 1985, and since he was a child, according to his account, he received early encouragement from his family so that he could be trained in the arts; subsequently receiving the necessary encouragement from the prominent San Cristobalense painters José Pelletier and Fermín Ceballos, to continue with his passion and professional interest in the plastic arts, a key factor, he says, that motivated him to enroll in the ENAV National School of Visual Arts, in who graduated in 2006.

The new collection of paintings and drawings will occupy and fill the three rooms of the Mirador Center with renewed plastic and visual energy, a cultural institution that during its ten years of operation has become one of the most attractive metropolitan enclaves in the city, with the attention of the public and specialists, due to the varied cultural offer that it has been developing since its foundation in 2012, in an environment in which its art exhibitions are combined with a highly attractive ecological, archaeological and anthropological atmosphere; enriching its calendar with the presentation of live music, seasonal theater, and very diverse artistic and cultural activities.

The Mirador Center, located on Avenida Mirador Sur number one, corresponding to the Mirador Santo Domingo Inc. Cultural Center Foundation, is a non-profit cultural organization, founded and directed by Purísima De León and Juan Guerra, general director and executive director , respectively.
