Rating: 4.5 / 5 (2 reviews)

Why choose this tour? The Acatenango Volcano Hike is for the budget-conscious traveller.

Including:

  • Transportation from and to Antigua in an air-conditioned vehicle.

  • Snacks (no lunch).

The scenic beauty is simply impressive, climbing the volcano is a fabulous experience, although you have to be physically and mentally prepared to take on the challenge with perseverance and sacrifice. The prize when reaching the summit is impressive, being greeted by eruptions of up to 2 kilometers and more is to some extent intimidating.

Absolutely loved this tour and could not have asked for better service. We booked super last minute for a spontaneous trip to Guatemala so I was a bit worried things wouldn’t work out but I quickly became reassured by the ease of communication from the company. Sebastian was very friendly and happy to answer all of my questions. The lady working at the front desk was also super helpful advising us on what to pack and also lent us some warm clothes including jumpers, beanies and gloves. Our guides David and Willy truly made the experience extra special. They walked at our pace and were always supportive when the track got tough. Their English skills were fantastic but what made it really nice was they helped us learn some Spanish along the way. When we stopped to take phones. David and Willy taught us about the volcano and wildlife. Lukas carried and prepared our meals which were very healthy and fresh. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a private tour.

The tour was taken care of end to end. The guides managed everything with precision. We started the trip as 12 am at night and then went to Antigua for the gear and transfer to 4x4. We started the hike at 1 am and it was beautiful. The guide who climbed with us was very nice and understanding. It is not an easy hike, we wanted to give up mid way but our guide pushed us (glad he did!) and the sunrise was beautiful! When we came back, they gave us pancakes. […]
