This 1988 Cadillac Allante was sold new in Effingham, Illinois and remained with the original owner until his passing in 2006. The car was then acquired from his estate by the second owner, who subsequently sold it to Effingham Ford in 2015. It was owned the dealership for a number of years before being acquired by the selling dealer earlier this month. Now showing just 15,137 miles, this example is finished in black over tan leather with red exterior trim and a black soft top. The Allante utilizes a Cadillac-designed chassis paired with Pininfarina bodywork, and the 4.1-liter V8 sends power to the front wheels though a 4-speed F7 automatic transmission. The car is equipped with a center console-mounted period cellphone, and it is now being offered at no reserve with a color-matched hardtop, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Illinois title.
The Allante features an Italian-built body that was designed and built by coachbuilder Pininfarina before being shipped to the United States to be installed on the Cadillac chassis. This example is finished in black and features a red trim line on the lower bodywork. No history of accidents or other damage is reported on the Carfax.
A color-matched and removable aluminum hardtop is present along with a black soft top as seen in photos. 17″ wheels from a later-model Cadillac have been added and are currently mounted with a set of Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires.
The interior is trimmed in tan leather with matching carpets and a contrasting brown dashboard. An in-cabin cellphone was the sole extra cost option for 1988 and remains fitted in this car as shown in the gallery below.
The original radio, climate controls, and other switches can be seen on the dash along with a Pininfarina badge near the automatic shifter. The 6-digit analog odometer currently shows just 15,137 miles.
Power comes from a 4.1-liter V8 that produced 170 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque when new. The front wheels are driven via a 4-speed F7 automatic transmission, and the selling dealer has performed an oil change and inspection.
