Wash Guide for Diapers

* Wash before use

* Knock solids into toilet (rinse if necessary or preferred).

* Remove inserts and store in a dry pail. We prefer a basket with lots of vent holes for airflow. Something to keep in mind when choosing a storage space for dirty diapers, closed in hampers with wet or damp articles inside, will hold in the moisture and smell. Having airflow is a good preventative with the buildup of moisture and odor.

* Cold rinse, Hot main wash with detergent (no additives). Extra rinse to remove detergent residue.

* Line dry or tumble dry low.

* We like to line dry our diaper shells and covers to help with the longevity of the PUL, but we tumble dry our inserts and flats with wool dryer balls. Feel free to line dry everything to be even more sustainable.

* DO NOT use bleach or fabric softeners. Bleach can ruin the PUL waterproof layer and fabric softeners leave behind a residue that can cause unwanted build-up.

* Every wash care and routine varies depending on how often you wash, water type, detergent used etc. Our wash guide includes the basics of washing cloth diapers. Adjust as needed to get a thoroughly washed diper to better protect babys' delicate skin.

* Our suggestions that are listed in this wash/care guide are just some tips for what works for us. No cloth diaper wash routine is full proof (unfortunately).

* Any natural fibers, like our hemp/waffle inserts and 4-layer bamboo inserts, need to be prepped. Meaning washed multiple times prior to use to remove the natural oils. Doing this will bring the product to its fullest absorbency capabilities.
