For old school games and soundtracks . Nothing like old school .

I love that games are small even without music and video but compression is very tricky. It would be easier with Rar or 7z. =/

I just spent several days painfully decompressing everything twice once from paq9 and again from ecm. Long Story short after actually PLAYING some of these dumps I can say it is not worth the time. I was going to be a bit less harsh but first of all most of these are "Scene Dumps" with intros and URLs to long dead sites and a few downright malicious ones. But the worst part is THEY ONLY INCLUDED TRACK 01 AND NOTHING ELSE. That is why they are only 253 GiB uncompressed because they HAVE NO MOVIES OR MUSIC. Any game that uses more than one track will not play correctly. Also I could get only 1448 "roms" after decompression. No log files so I can't see why and at this point I don't care. I also tried PeaZip but paq9 is not a supported format *facepalm*.

Also after converting from bin/cue to CHD size is 38.9 GibiBytes and that is an actually usable as-is format.

BTW here are some CMD prompts I used if for whatever reason you don't care about accuracy or music.... I will give it one good point; this is the most efficient OneRomPerGame PS1 romset at less than 21 GB

but that is this archives only redeeming quality, you stole 2 hours of my life manually rejoining 202 "BIN.MODE" files in COSI with 12 windows open constantly picking the next file because it is the one program that does not support Batch operations!!!

Missing the c runtime for many of the PSX tools. The compression is an absolute pain and the tools for managing it are awful. PeaZip is utter garbage and doesn't even recognize the paq9a file type. If you just need bin/cue or chd, go elsewhere. This is just a massive headache with typical anti-standard obfuscation is all about credit, not archival usefulness.

This is very interesting but the way it's archived isn't much user friendly.
For ease of use, would you consider uploading the ripped games in simple "zip" or "7z" files as an alternative to this super ripped and packed format?

Extracting these requires using paq9a.exe in cmd prompt. Dropping onto the included cmd script did not work for me.
Solution - Copy the paq9a.exe to the folder containing the roms, open a cmd window in this location and run this command

for %i in (a*.paq9a) do paq9alp x "%i"

This will extract each archive automatically.

The password is "psxtools". Without quotes. Lowercase.

This all looks very nice but at decompress it require a password (using zpaq).
