Bernhard Paumgartner (Vienna, 14.11.1887 - Salzburg, 17.07.1971): Austrian conductor, composer, musicologist, co-founder and president of the Salzburg Festival. Known for his biography of Mozart.
He was the composition teacher of Herbert von Karajan and of Vittorio Negri at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
