About us

Founded in 1999 in Buenos Aires practically out of film school, the new company started in commercials and music videos with rapidly growing budgets until the production and release of “The Bottom of the Sea” in 2003, quickly reaching its objective of producing commercial feature-length films. Our first film, written and directed by Damián Szifrón, won three prizes at the Mar del Plata film festival and more than twenty internationally (including San Sebastián) and was the highest grossing Argentinean independent film of the year, also finding distribution in the United States. Aeroplano opened in 2004 a U.S. office to sell its production services to the US, which lead us to work among others for companies like MTV or Nintendo and agencies like Leo Burnett Chicago, Grey NYC or Wing Latina In the year 2005 Aeroplano stopped producing commercials deciding to focus strongly on features using reputation as a company that seeks and launches new talent to attract some of the most promising argentine filmmakers, reputation that we hold and nourish until today. We strive to expand this vision and provide a real bridge between Latin America and the world, finding and developing stories with an intelligent use of genre and characters and a genuine intention of creating identification with universal audiences. At the time we develop indistinctly independent films and television both in English and Spanish, to shoot in Argentina or the United States collaborating without boundaries with partners abroad and allowing the reflection of talented directors and writers on each other’s film industry and culture.
