On Monday I was able to get (with the help of my mum) new shelves to put all my Sega games. Originally, my Sega Mega CD games were in a small black box kind of shelf, with my Mega Drive games in a wicker basket. Until now this was kind of awkward, especially getting out the games.

This is the new shelf units and as you can see, there is still room for more games!

Left to Right: Unless I say so all games are CIB, any games are stacked will be listed top to bottom

Above: Lethal Enforcers Box (with innards but no manual), Konami Justifier and you can barely see a CD game case which has my two copies of Lethal Enforcers.

Top:  Sonic Spinball, Sonic 2, Olympic Summer games and Vectorman (cart only), Ecco the Dolphin, Flicky, Gunstar Heroes, Marble Madness, Micro Machines: Turbo Tournament '96, Micro Machines 2 Turbo Tournament (no manual), Rocket Knight Adventures, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic & Knuckles (no manual).

Middle: Dragon's Lair, Keio Flying Squadron, Road Avenger, Microcosm, Sega Classics Arcade Collection, Sensible Soccer, Sol-Feace/Cobra Command, Sonic CD, Soulstar, Starblade, Thunderhawk, Time Gal, Tomcat Alley, The Adventures of Willy Beamish, Fahrenheit, Panic!, Revenge of the Ninja, Sewer Shark, Datel Pro CD-X

Bottom: Sega Master Converter, Tom & Jerry: The Movie, Taz-Mania, Sonic Chaos, Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

My MP3 player is on the floor, on the right side is a folder with all my Demo disks (including the Roadkill soundtrack and the DOS game Novastorm) and my Dancing Stage Dance Mat.

This is my collection as of 29th April 2008

I don't know how much those cost, but they do look good! However, if you are good with a saw and nails, you should try building your own shelves. This lets them be to your exact specifications, and you most definitely will save money. They tend to, if you put lacquer on them, look nicer as well. Those shelves look nice though, I like the square design. Might also, if you get to the point, be good for consoles if you cut holes in the back for cords.

Nice shelves! Your...err (I don't know what system those games are Sad) games in CD jewel cases look great in them! Smiley

@logical123: I believe this is good for now, better than what my previous storage was. It would be a good idea, but one is time and two, these shelves were originally owned by my parents so I got them to save money even to buy pieces to make a shelf.
@Sirgin: Here's a hint, look at the blog title laugh

@gamepopper101:They're Mega CD games? But I thought those were the ones in the large light-blue boxes? I'm confused. Sad

You've got a good start Smiley

When i started collecting that was one of the things that gave me... joy(?).
Getting new shelving, or rearranging so things fit/looked better together.

Actually the only time i didn't like a change i made was when i changed my game arrangement from in the order of purchase to alphabetical. And after a period of time when i got 100+ new games i ended up liking it since it was easier for me to find everything. It got to the point where i was getting games so fast i wasn't playing most of them.

Hell i don't get games nearly as fast as i useto and i still don'tplay most of them.

Dude! Nevermind the games! That's nice carpet! Is it nice and squishy when you walk barefooted?

@Sirgin: The large, clear cases with blue inserts (middle shelf) are US Sega CD cases. PAL Mega CD cases were normal CD case size but thicker, and they opened on both front and back. There were a few PAL Mega CD games that came in the larger case, like Microcosm (which I think was also sold in the smaller case).

@James:Ah, thanks for clearing that up, James! Smiley

@froggin ashbowl: laugh

I kind of miss the days when my entire collection could fit on one shelf. Hell, I miss being able to look at my entire collection without having to turn my head.

@NES_Rules:Yeah it will hurt for me, especially when I may get to the hundreds.

I hope your game collection would grow.
