ACORDA

RAFEIRO ALENTEJANO,  MALE

Acorda is a lovely rafeiro alentejano puppy. He was abandoned at the police station. Someone left him just outside and ran fast.
The puppy is lovely. Social, friendly, gentle, cuddly. But he has a problem. His front legs are bent and he walks strange. He does walk and he does not seem in pain and most probably he was born like this. This however can improve as he is still growing. He is now doing physiotherapy. Date of birth is May 2016.

ALBERT

Albert was born around February 5, 2017. He was about 8 weeks old when he was found with his siblings. And so he came to our shelter. After a few days he became ill, was taken to our vet and put on a drip. Fortunately our veterinarian could save his life. Now he is back in our shelter and very well alive. He is very social and after all those medical treatments also used to a lot of people. We think he will be a medium of about 18 kg when he is adult.

And we want her to get out as soon as possible. A year in such a place is really long enough. Estimated date of birth is January 1, 2014. She is medium size, 48 cm high and social with people and other dogs.

MIXED BREED, MALE

"There's a pup in my bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza, there's more than one in my bucket, dear Liza, more than one".

Yes, 4 pups were dropped off on the road near the sanctuary in a paint bucket. Dusk, nearly dark, car drove off at high speed.
We called them the "bucket pups". One died soon after. They were about 2, yes, TWO DAYS old. What a cowardly act. How can normal people do this?? We ask ourselves this question all the time......
They are now 5 weeks old and have just come off the bottle. Born around 24th July and going strong. One has already been adopted so we have Bucket and Baldo yet to find loving homes. They are still small of course and very delicate boned so we expect them to be small-medium adults.

BEATRIX

MIXED BREED,  FEMALE

Beatrix was born around February 5, 2017 in a field just outside the village. Her mother and her brothers and sisters were fed by local children from the neighbourhood. When someone wanted a puppy they could just go there and take one. Until the puppies were almost 10 weeks old and then we thought that this situation had lasted long enough. Because if nobody takes the puppies, they will disappear and the bitches will be pregnant, when they are 6 or 7 months old, and then this process will never stop. So we picked them up and the puppies are now safe in our shelter. All puppies are very good with people and especially with children. We expect them to be medium size when adult.

BRANSTON

MIXED BREED,  MALE

Branston was not yet four months old when he was found early in the morning, tied to the gate of a house where English people live. It must have been an owner with a great sense of responsibility, because normally they drive with their dog to the hilly area far from civilization, tossing the dog out of the car and driving away fast. Maybe they were watching from a distance. Immediately Branston was taken to a vet for examination, etc., etc., who told us that he was born on October 1, 2016. He was de-wormed and de-flead and even got his first vaccination. But now he is in the shelter and we do not want him there. He has to get out as soon as possible. He now weighs 8 kg.
He is a very friendly dog towards people and good with dogs around him. He will grow into a small middle size.

FAISCA

MIXED BREED,  MALE

Faisca was born in June 2015. He is 35 cm tall and weighs 6 kg. Faisca was brought to the shelter by the owners, after a collision with a car. They said that his leg was broken and they could not afford a vet. So we could do nothing else than to help Faisca. He had tremendous pain as he had an open fracture, which was days old. He was immediately taken to the clinic and everyone feared it that he would lose his leg. But luckily his leg could be saved. He remained 1,5 months in the vet's hospital until his leg was healed again. He endured extreme pain, but he endured them without whining. He was simply neglected by its owners and the pain he suffered after the accident left them indifferent. Fortunately, he was saved and he may become a happy dog again. Faisca is a funny, loving, very kind and gentle dog. After all he had to go through he is limping so now and then, but that does not bother him. He runs and plays like any other dog. Now he is waiting for a golden home where someone will love him.

Someone saw Frankie being thrown out of a car on the road late at night. These people picked up the dog and took him home for the night and to the shelter the next day. He was very well behaved in a home – we know that he was house clean, calm, he slept on the top of the bed and he did not bark when left alone for short time nor destroyed anything. Obviously a dog that is used to living in a home. Unfortunately the people that found him could not keep him. GUIDO

MIXED BREED, MALE

Guido, a little boy of only 7,5 kg and now about 8 months old (born 1 January 2017), has been rescued from death-row, because a day later and he would not have been there any more. It was his luck that the municipal vet was 3 weeks on holiday. And it was not his fault that he was roaming the streets of Portugal's richest municipality, whose mayor believes that stray dogs do not belong in the street scene, because that is bad for the image. Guido is a very sweet and affectionate guy, happy with the attention and love he is getting now. He is really human-oriented, walks well on the lead and is just a happy dog, who can also look very sad after everything he has experienced. We think he has been a domestic dog, but lost. Guido has no tail.

Update 29-09-2017. Guido weights now 9.3 kg.

HOPE

MIXED BREED,  FEMALE

HOPE, was found in the garbage with 2 siblings, one of which was already dead. She was taken to a clinic as she was not expected to survive, either, and thus the name, HOPE. But survive she did and was taken into temporary foster whilst the people who found the pups went back to their native country. As often happens, family circumstances did not allow for the people to come back to Portugal so Hope is now for adoption.
She is 7-8 months old (born 1 July 2016) and very lively. Her foster has more dogs and children of 11/12 who all love to play outside together with sticks and balls and ropes. Hope will be spayed and ready for travelling at the beginning of April. She weighs 7kg and is 35cm. JACK

MIXED BREED, MALE

Jack, a beautiful black puppy, born on June 24, 2017, was found with a sister and the people who found them arranged an adoption. So far so good. Until we found out who the adopter was. It was a semi-homeless Eastern European man, who "lived" on what we call a succata, a scrap yard full of old iron parts, sharp dangerous car plates, broken batteries etc. We succeeded to convince this man that this place was not ideal for puppies and were allowed to take the puppies. The female pup has been adopted immediately and now we are looking for a beautiful house for Jack. Jack will probably grow into a good middle size. He has something of a Labrador in himself, also character wise. He loves everything and everyone and is always very friendly.

JENNIE

PODENGO,  FEMALE

Jennie and her six puppies were found in an abandoned quarry when her pups emerged from their den. She was seen before, but we did not try to catch her at that earlier occasion, because otherwise the puppies would perish of hunger. Armed with a variety of trapping material we went to the quarry, but it was not necessary to catch her because she naturally came to us to greet us. From the first moment she was confident. She just let us pick up herself and her puppies so that we could put the whole family in our car.
Jennie is a beautiful white Podengo, very friendly to people, defending her puppies against our other dogs that come to see her and a very good mother.
As she was a street dog she is good with other dogs, but with cats we are not so sure.
Jennie is about 2 years old (born late 2014) and now weighs about 12 kg.

JONTY

MIXED BREED,  MALE

JONTY male and JOSIE female.
These two small pups were put into the garden of a rented villa.
Of course, the person who put them there knew that the occupants were foreign and that it is those holidaymakers who will deal with their unwanted pups.
Unwanted because the mother dogs run around on heat and get pregnant.
Unfortunately, holidaymakers GO home and then what to do with the doggies??
So, they take them to the shelter and we have to find them a home, vaccinate, worm, deflea etc etc.
This is a story with no end in sight here in Portugal.
Pups are very pretty, about 10 weeks' old now (estimated date of birth 1 November 2016) and will be smallish adults.

KIM

MIXED BREED,  FEMALE

Kim (the blonde one) and Donna (the dark one), were born on July 21, 2009 at our house as we did not know that their rescued mother, a blond Labrador, was heavily pregnant. They were about three months old when they were adopted by a Dutch couple in the Algarve. However, because of poor health, the couple will now go back to the Netherlands and they can not take the dogs with them. So we are urgently looking for a loving family for these wonderful dogs, which have always lived in a house.

LADY (= Lola)

MIXED BREED, FEMALE

Lady, a little girl of 5,2 kg and about 1 year old (born August 1, 2016) decided that she was better off in our English neighbours' garden than an insecure life on the street. The first day she was put outside on the street again and was told she had to go home again, but in a few minutes she was back at the door. Because she did not have a microchip we asked around if somebody knew her, we also asked the veterinarians in our village and placed an add on various internet sites for lost pets, but there was no response. Now that the "mandatory" waiting period has expired, she may be offered for adoption. Lady is a real house dog, probably also lived in a house, is good with children, cats and other dogs.

LAURENS

MIXED BREED, MALE

Laurens and his 11 brothers and sisters were born in the wild on August 6, 2017 after their abandoned pregnant mother managed to escape before she could be sterilised. When they were about 3 weeks old and emerged from the bushes where they were hidden, all puppies and the mother dog could be caught and they now live in a tiny private shelter, far too small for a family of 13. If Laurens is adopted, he can go to a foster family and live in a "normal" house until he can travel to his forever home. We expect him to grow to a medium sized dog.

LOLA

MIXED BREED, FEMALE

Lola was found lying in the middle of a road and she was 6 weeks pregnant. She looked as though she was dead……. but luckily for her she was rescued, spayed and treated  immediately and is now a beautiful, gentle, loving girl needing a family home. Lola sleeps in a basket at night in the kitchen and is not destructive. She loves human company but also to play with other dogs and go on walks. She is not the running away type but comes when called and sits for a treat. Definitely a family pet.

Estimated date of birth is April 2015 making her 2.5 years old now.

Lola lives with her foster family but will be coming to stay with us soon as they are going back to the UK.

08-10-2016     ADOPTED     30-01-2017

LOTTI

MIXED BREED,  FEMALE

LOTTI is a mixed breed female pup with a lovely head full of character and expression in her eyes.
But her story is not lovely at all. She was rescued together with 2 siblings from a dark barn with no light and no human contact.
This happens when ignorant people have a female dog to guard their property and the dog runs around even when she is on heat. Some of these ignorant souls do not even know "when" the dog is on heat and so they get pregnant and give birth to unwanted pups. Some people drown the pups at birth, some put them in the garbage and some hide them away in outbuildings.
Lotti was lucky to be found and taken to a shelter where she has been socialised, fully vaccinated, wormed etc. She is about 5 months old now ( born 12 May 2016) and ready to go to a loving home. We expect her to be a medium/ large size adult.

MADELEINE

SMALL MIXED BREED,  FEMALE

Madeleine would no longer be alive if Marie-Jose and a Portuguese colleague had not gone to the gypsy camp to discuss the sterilization of the mother of our puppies Pinta and Ponta. Not too far away she saw a gypsy doing something with small puppies. When she went to look, she saw that he was drowning the puppies in a barrel with very dirty water. The first one was already in and the rest were hiding under a pile of junk. "The mother doesn't feed them any more and we do not even have money to feed ourselves, let alone to feed the puppies," he said as an explanation. Of course Marie-Jose could not let this go by and when the man walked away they could catch three puppies and take them home. Madeleine was born November 11, 2016, she will remain a small dog, less than 8 kilograms, we think.

Update 6-2-2017. Madeleine is now 12 weeks old and weighs 2.8 kg.

19-04-2017    ADOPTED     12-05-2017

MAGGIE

MIXED BREED,  FEMALE

Maggie, born on January 13, 2017, was found in a difficult accessible hilly area. She was just 2 months old. Of course we did not know how she got there, but that's not hard to guess. Her left eye was so heavily damaged and infected that it had to be removed. She is now living with a foster family and has forgotten her bad experiences. She is super friendly, has lots of self-confidence and is good with other dogs, cats and children. She weighs now (19-4-2017) about 6.5 kg and will grow into a middle-sized dog. We find that, with her disability, which she does not mind at all, she is entitled to her own house where she can become happy.

08-04-2017     ADOPTED     10-06-2017

MARGARIET

MIXED BREED,  FEMALE

MARGARIET was brought to the shelter in the evening by a woman who said she had just found her in the road!
Because it was evening there was nothing else to do but put her in a crate in the van. Next morning it was obvious that she is used to people so we now suspect she was the woman's little dog. Who does such a thing?
She is very sweet, a little bit shy in her new surroundings with 150 other dogs but walks well on the lead and is very inquisitive.
She is too small to put in with other dogs so she will have to stay in the box in the car until someone can foster or adopt her.
She is about 15 months old (born January 2016) and weighs 8kg. Will not grow any more.

10-04-2017     ADOPTED     26-05-2017

MARTY

MIXED BREED,  MALE

Marty would no longer be alive if Marie-Jose and a Portuguese colleague had not gone to the gypsy camp to discuss the sterilization of a mother dog Not too far away she saw a gypsy doing something with small puppies. When she went to look, she saw that he was drowning the puppies in a barrel with very dirty water. The first one was already in and the rest were hiding under a pile of junk.  Marie-Jose could not let this go by, she caught three puppies and took them home. After long negotiations we have managed to salvage another puppy Marty together with the mother dog Maya. Maya was ill, malnourished, skin and bone, and too weak to walk. And that would be the fate of Marty, if we had not sustained. There is another brother, so we are not ready and negotiations still continue. But now we are looking for a lovely home for Marty so he can be as happy as his sisters. Marty was born on November 11, 2016. He will be a bit bigger than his sisters.

ORLA

MIXED BREED, FEMALE

Again two puppies were dumped at the shelter and of course they were females. It is estimated that are they now 2.5 months old (born about January 20, 2016). Nobody knows what they have experienced and that is why they keep a little distance in the beginning, but when they know you they lose all fear and just want to be with you. We call them Olivia and Orla. They are very similar to each other and are therefore a real twin. They will be medium large, we think. These are the pictures of Orla.

Quite a well known residential and small business town south of Loule, prosperous, many foreign residents.
Even this place is the backdrop for large wheely bins full of garbage ...and at the bottom of this garbage, what is that moving object?
A box full of 9 new born pups. What to do? Get them out and take them somewhere fast.

Rescued and bottle fed by a local resident, they are now ready for adoption.
Four boys have found homes so we are left with, as usual, 5 girls. Reared by hand the pups are social and playful.
Will be medium size adults.

PEANUT

MIXED BREED,  FEMALE

Peanut, who is less than two years old, probably born around July 1, 2015, arrived in a gypsy camp and was unwanted there. Therefore we could take her out. Of course, we don't know how she ended up in the gypsy camp, but it has become clear to us that she must have been accustomed to living in a house as she behaves very well. She is friendly to people and other dogs, always happy to see you, walks well on leash and listens reasonably to commands. She has been spayed, has undergone a hernia operation, has been tested and now very healthy. She weighs about 14 kg, but she is not very tall because of her relative short legs.

PITUCHA

MIXED BREED, FEMALE

Quite a well known residential and small business town south of Loule, prosperous, many foreign residents.
Even this place is the backdrop for large wheely bins full of garbage ...and at the bottom of this garbage, what is that moving object?
A box full of 9 new born pups. What to do? Get them out and take them somewhere fast.

Rescued and bottle fed by a local resident, they are now ready for adoption.
Four boys have found homes so we are left with, as usual, 5 girls. Reared by hand the pups are social and playful.
Will be medium size adults.

POMBINHA

MIXED BREED,  FEMALE

Pombinha, 11 kg and 45 cm high, was found wandering the streets. She looked very bad and thin which indicated that she had to ensure a long time for herself. She has had puppies that were otherwise nowhere to be found and probably all died. Now she is completely recovered. The heap of misery has become a beautiful dog, not only from the outside but also from the inside. Pombinha is a very sweet dog, walks well on a leash, is kind to people, gets along with other dogs, is always happy and shows this by wagging her tail all day. A perfect dog. To new situations and environments she needs to get used to, but when she realized that people will not harm her, she will be as enthusiastic as ever. Pombinha was born early 2012.

09-12-2016     ADOPTED     10-02-2017

PONTA

MIXED BREED,  FEMALE

Ponta and Pinta were "rescued" from a gypsy camp by a colleague and we have agreed to spay the mother for them.
They were born around 04/08/2016 and we expect them to stay small when adult.
A little shy at the moment when cuddled as gypsies don't do cuddles but very social and playful pups.

Update 22-12-2016: Ponta and Pinta have been in foster for a week and are now lovely cuddly girls, very stable and social and going to puppy classes.

Update 04-01-2017: She is now 5 months old and weighs 4,0 kg.

21-08-2017     ADOPTED     11-11-2017

POPPY

POINTER, FEMALE

Poppy is about 7.5 months old, born January 2017. When she was still very small, she was found by an English couple and because they had no pets, she should stay with them in their apartment. Everyone was happy, Poppy too, because when her boss had to go to work she always was allowed to come along. But then the un-imaginable happened. Her boss became seriously ill and therefore urgently needed to return to England. And Poppy can not go with her. There is no other place for her than in a shelter, where she will be well taken care of, but that is not comparable to where she used to be. She also will not be happy there, because she will not understand why that is. That is why we are looking for a new home for her, where she can be happy again. It must be a house without cats.

16-10-2016     ADOPTED     03-02-2017

PRESLEY

MIXED BREED,  MALE

Presley was found in the bush bush without his mother. We estimate that his date of birth is around August 7, 2016. He will grow to a medium size dog. He and his four siblings are very social, happy and cheerful when someone comes near who pays attention to them. But unfortunately they are in the shelter, where there really is no place for them and what is not a place where these puppies should grow up. But that is their future if they are not adopted.

21-08-2017     ADOPTED    24-10-2017

PRISCILLA

MIXED BREED, FEMALE

Priscilla was found by nice people walking their dog. Or better said Priscilla found those people because she came to them from the bushes. She was covered with hundreds of ticks. We think, she was born on June 25, 2017 and is a new arrival in our shelter. On these first pictures she is 8 weeks old. We expect her to be a small middle size, a slender dog with long legs.

Update 22/9/2017: Now 3 months old, she weighs 3,4 kg.

12-09-2017    ADOPTED    20-10-2017

REVI

MIXED BREED, MALE

His mother RITA had been abandoned and wandering around a fairly isolated urbanisation for a long time. As usual, local people feed the females but never take them to be sterilised so every 6/7 months they have puppies, somewhere. This time Rita and her nine pups hung around parked cars on a road that was being tarmacked and the poor dogs got covered in bits of sticky tar. Temperatures were around 35 degrees at that time and the dogs were really suffering from the heat and the tar.
At night they would hide in bushes and under rocks to get cool.
Some people caught the pups and took them away to different places to be cleaned and fostered. The mum Rita got left behind but we rescued her and she is safe with us.
This little boy is the last of two left and in need of a home. He looks very much like his mother. Revi was born on 24 June 2017 and will be a small middle size dog when adult.

21-10-2017     ADOPTED     01-12-2017

RHONDA

CROSS BREED, FEMALE

Rhonda and her brother Rusty were seen at the municipal pound in Albufeira and taken home by a nice English lady. We know nothing about where they came from and who brought them there as that is all classified information, top secret! What we do know is that the other siblings all died of Parvovirus in there. A municipal pound is no place for very young pups and if they are not rescued quickly, they die, yes.

Born on 26th June 2017 and now weighing 10kg at 4 months old. They will be good, medium sized adults. Socialised with children and other dogs and very friendly. Used to living in a house and playing in the garden.

Rhonda is more active and playful. Both have a beautiful chocolate colour, short, smooth coat and long tails. Could have some Pointer or Labrador genes. Ready for adoption in Portugal now or 21 days after rabies vaccine abroad.

RITA

MIXED BREED,  FEMALE

Rita, born on December 10, 2016, was found with her sister on Christmas Day 2016. They were raised with the bottle. Currently she lives in a foster home with other dogs and with cats. She likes to get on your lap for a hug, but prefers women. For men, she would first wait if they can be trusted. Probably because there were only women around in the first weeks of her life. She is house trained and already knows some basic commands. She walks well on the leash and is expected to be about 12 kg when she grows up.

He was abandoned and spent some time out in the open fending for himself thus very undernourished when found.
He is now putting on weight slowly but has still some way to go. Very energetic when outside but quiet in the house unless with other pups. He is in need of other dogs to play with and does not like to be alone. Sleeps in crate all night and completely house trained.  Roman needs an experienced family who know about Pointers and their training and behaviour. He also needs space. Not for beginners and not for apartments.

Rosie is a very affectionate dog, happy when people pay attention to her and she will do anything to get a pat on her head.

SARGON

MIXED BREED,  MALE

First appeared the mother! She was very pregnant and wandered into an English family's garden begging for food. She was extremely hungry and thin. Although they could feed her as she would come to the food, no-one was able to catch her and on 3rd April this year she gave birth to the pups in the bushes in the garden. Nine in total, 7 survived.
After 4 weeks of nursing her pups in a quiet part of the garden, the mum was tranquillised and she and her pups taken to the shelter. They are already quite relaxed and don't mind being picked up to be photographed. All have been wormed and will follow the protocol for adoption at 8 weeks in Portugal, vaccinated and chipped or 16 weeks abroad. We expect him to grow to medium size when adult.

SHIVA

MIXED BREED,  FEMALE

Shiva, a female, was found by gypsies and brought to a shelter. Because it was such a nice puppy, we have removed her already after one day and she now lives in our house, along with several other puppies. Now we know her better, we no longer believe that she was found, she probably somewhere stolen by gypsy children, but their parents did not allow them to keep her. Shiva was born on or about June 20, 2016 and weighs at 12 weeks of age approximately 12 kg. She is very social with humans and animals and is trying bossy over the other pups. She is obviously the largest. She loves human attention and wants to be cuddled. Her origin is unknown, of course, but we think that there is something of a shepherd in her. She is very inquisitive and intelligent. She will be a larger middle size dog when adult.

STELLA

MIXED BREED,  FEMALE

One summer night STELLA was put over the hedge into the garden of an 80 year old man. She was then about 6 weeks old. No mother, no siblings, just all alone with an old man who could not take her in.
She was full of Demodex and needed treatment urgently. Someone took her to the shelter where she still lives with 120 other dogs.
Stella is about 7 months old now, born in May 2016, weighs about 14kg and will be spayed soon. She is very social with dogs and people and stays outside the boundary fencing with several other dogs who all sleep in little dog houses at night.
She would love to have a home and family of her own.

STEWART

RAFEIRO ALENTEJANO CROSS,  MALE

Stewart, born November 1, 2016, just appeared. A lady from Scotland who has a holiday home at the end of the world in the Algarve (and also has a rescue dog from us) walked with her 3 dogs through the Algarve hills and Stewart followed her and her dogs into her garden and house. No microchip, no owner, but covered with more than 400 ticks. Because the holiday was over and she had to return to Scotland after 2 days, she asked us for help. And so Stewart came to us. Stewart is a cross Rafeiro Alentejano and will be a big dog. He likes everything, is friends with everyone, does not worry about anything, such a lovely boy. If we did not have that many dogs he would be allowed to stay with us. Who has the space, time and attention for him, which we can not offer him.

Update: Stuart has been castrated on 21 July 2017 and weighs 28 kg.

14-12-2016     ADOPTED     10-02-2017

SULTAO

RAFEIRO ALENTEJANO,  MALE

Sultao is a Rafeiro Alentejo, an original and great Portuguese breed. He was born on October 15, 2015 and now aged a little over a year. When he was about 2 months old, he was picked up along with a sister at the breeder and he lived in a house. But the owner ran into financial difficulties and the bank repossessed his house. And then Sultao had no home and he ended up in the shelter. His sister got lucky and found a wonderful new home. But not Sultao. He is waiting a long time. Adoption in Portugal is not an option, because then he probably will end on a chain as a watchdog. Of course he will defend his family, his home and his children, but he can not do that when he is chained up. Sultao is very gentle, radiating happiness, is accustomed to people and friendly with other dogs. He loves to get attention and be cuddled. He has a calm temperament and pays no attention to cats. He is very big and therefore needs a lot of space.

22-08-2017    ADOPTED     27-12-2017

SUSIE

MIXED BREED, FEMALE

Susie, about 20 months old (born January 2016), was born somewhere on the extensive grounds of the Cimpor regional cement plant. Because she was so friendly she was "adopted" by one of the female security officers who, unfortunately, could not take her to her tiny apartment, but cared for her and fed her on the terrain every day and played with her. There are many stray dogs living in that area, so many that the management decided that it was no longer be acceptable. The management has therefore asked the municipality of Loule to take away all dogs, which means that they will end up in Loule's municipal shelter, where they disappear under strange circumstances. Portugal has adopted a new law that stray dogs and street cats should not be allowed to be put down, not even after 8 days, but that law will only enter into force March next year. Susie's guardian / caretaker asked us for help and Susie is currently safe in a foster family, where she can only stay temporarily. Who can give this lovely dog safe home for ever? Susie is a good middle size dog. She has something of a shepherd in herself and even looks a bit like our puppies Sven, Sargon and Shelley.

WALLY

MIXED BREED,  MALE

Wally was born on or about August 16, 2016 in a hollow ancient carob tree, next to a house where an 80 year old woman lives. This woman did not know what to do and the only thing she could do was feeding the mother dog some rice. When the puppies were 7 weeks old, one of the neighbours told us about the pups and we went immediately to have a look. Once there, the only thing we could do was to fish the pups out of the hollow tree. It were 3 females and 4 males. The puppies are now living in the shelter, because we are already full of puppies. Of course the shelter is not an ideal place for puppies, but sometimes we have to choose between two bad ones. We expect that Wally will become a small medium.

YVES

MIXED BREED,  MALE

Yves and his brothers Yankee and Yoda were "rescued" by a colleague from the gypsies under the condition that the mother would be sterilized at our expense. They were born about 4 October 2016 and we expect that they will remain small because the mother dog weighs just 6 kg and father dog about 8 kg. They are very sociable and play all day. When people come to their little kennel they just want to be picked up.

07-04-2017     ADOPTED     26-05-2017

ZAZA

MIXED BREED,  FEMALE

ZAZA, is a small female, 11 kg, born July 2016. This poor little girl lived on the streets and spent the winter outside in the cold and rain ignored by humans and attacked by other, larger dogs. She was extremely frightened, skin over bone, full of bites, ticks and fleas. A colleague animal rescuer resolved to take her in as there was no other chance for Zaza to survive.
Now, a few months on, she is a completely different dog, calm, friendly, intelligent, social with other dogs and people, walks on the lead and will make someone a true companion.
